Some Energy and Resource Predictions for the Second Decade of the 21st Century
Let’s imagine the greener, cleaner energy future. How is it going to unfold as the second decade of the 21st century starts? Here are some predictions from various green technology thinkers.
There will be a new surge in private capital investment into clean energy, in spite of the lingering Recession in the United States. We should see this emerge sometime in 2010.
Developed and emerging nations will compete to create greener economies much like they competed for space faring dominance from the 1950s through the 1980s.
Even as hybrid and electric cars continue to proliferate, cities and nations will encourage the creation of greener transportation modes called “smart mobility”, which may involve issuing grants to private companies to develop city-wide, state-wide, and even nation-wide magneto rail and monorail systems.
Water-cleaning and conserving technologies will explode onto the scene as clean water supplies continue to be squeezed. Companies that successfully create more clean water for people will make their investors very, very rich.
Lithium will be the “new oil”.
ICT (intelligent, clean technology) software and systems development will supplant solar power development as the most-invested-in green technology.
Marketing firms who take on green technology companies as clients will see their profits soar as green tech competition gets really hot.
Aqua-farming, creating clean energy from waste materials, and geothermal energy development will all see heavy private investment.
Conservatives will take back a great deal of power in the United States and start putting an end to man-made climate change rubbish as people become outraged at the Liberal decimation of the greatest economy and the most charitable people on the planet.

Regarding the last paragraph of this article, it is conservatives that have destroyed the greatest economy on earth and put the U.S. into the sewer. Climate change issues are just the tip of the iceberg. Total corruption of every human value for the sake of the greedy few has been the legacy of the so-called conservatives. Not that the liberals are much better, because they have been cowardly accomplices in our race to the bottom.
